Dance, Music, Art and Film: Norman McLaren, Genius of Animation
Presented by the National Film Board of Canada
A spectacular showcase of short films by a pioneer of animation in Canada. Founder of the NFB animation studio in 1941, the visionary McLaren foreshadowed the multidisciplinary artists of the late 20th century. These films, part of the McLaren retrospective currently touring internationally, have been completely remastered and restored by the NFB. Crackling with
colour and energy, they illustrate McLaren’s complete mastery of movement. The series includes the Oscar-winning anti-war classic Neighbours/Voisins.
