Noon-Hour Concerts: Audrey Nadeau

Audrey Nadeau is one of eight cellists accepted into this year’s New York String Orchestra Seminar directed by Jaime Laredo. She will perform works by Schubert ( Arpeggione Sonata in A major, D 821), Dvorák (Cello Concerto in B minor, Opus 104) and Malcolm Forsyth (Eclectic Suite for Cello and Piano).
Audrey Nadeau
A rising star on the Quebec music scene, 19-year-old cellist Audrey Nadeau is currently studying with Carole Sirois at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. She has already won numerous competitions, including the Canada Music Competition, the Festival Concours de Musique de Sherbrooke et de la Région de l’Estrie, and the Radio-Canada Young Artists Competition, and has attended professional development sessions at the Orford Arts Centre, Domaine Forget, National Arts Centre, Meadowmount School of Music (Westport, NY), and New York String Orchestra Seminar. Audrey has had the privilege of playing with such masters as Amanda Forsyth, Brian Manker, Janos Starker, Laurence Lesser, Joel Quarrington, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Heidi Litschauer, Philippe Muller, Timothy Eddy and Hans Jorgen Jensen. In 2002, she received the loan of a professional-quality instrument built by renowned Toronto violin makers Miki and Masa Inokuchi.
