Two Pianos, Eight Hands: Jimmy Brière, Jean Desmarais, David Jalbert, Maneli Pirzadeh
National Gallery of Canada
Four inspired pianists, hailed as the leading talents of their generation, take the stage for a concert of works for two, four and eight hands! Playing solo, Jimmy Brière will perform Rachmaninov; Jean Desmarais will play Bartók, Bertand and Debussy; Maneli Pirzadeh will offer Chopin and Liszt; and David Jalbert will honour Fauré and Scriabin. The musicians will pair up to perform piano duets, and all four will take part in the dazzling finale: the Fantasia for Eight Hands, based on themes from Bizet’s Carmen.
