Led by Music Director Yoav Talmi, the OSQ offers a French-themed concert featuring works by the Frenchman Berlioz (Le Corsaire) and the Belgian Franck (the mighty Symphony in D minor), as well as works by Quebec composers Clermont Pépin and Jacques Hétu. Oboist Philippe Magnan as soloist will perform Hétu’s Concerto for Oboe and English Horn, a work written for and brilliantly premiered by Magnan in 2005 in Quebec City.
