Maestro Pinchas Zukerman, world-renowned soloist

All conducting sessions are recorded for personal use and review. Selected sessions may be used as the basis for detailed review led by Maestro Kiesler. The 12-day program includes score study led by Maestro Kiesler as well as information sessions with staff, members of the National Arts Centre Orchestra and invited guests.
The program culminates with each conductor having the opportunity to lead Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra in rehearsal under the supervision of Maestro Zukerman and Maestro Kiesler. The participants will then conduct the NAC Orchestra in a public concert in Southam Hall of the National Arts Centre.
Acceptance to the program will be based on review of submitted audition materials, level of experience and expressed goals in participating. Those selected in the final round of auditions may be contacted for a live interview with Maestro Kiesler. Conducting Apprentices may attend upon approval of an application and audition. The Director may choose to grant Conducting Apprentices brief podium time.
